Need help with fabric choices
These are the fabrics for my Quilts for Quilters Swap: I'd like to get some in-put as to my choices so far.
I'm still picking out fabrics for islandwiz1's quilt. Hope to post some pics of the fabrics to get feedback on my choices. I'm worried that the quilt may read a little "VANILLA". The fabrics are gorgeous, and in assorted blues with a "touch of sparkle", I also have a green for leaves to place here and there. Please give me your thought and ideas....I will NOT be offended....just want a little in-put :) OK, here are my fabrics....so far.http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...432050-010.jpg All the fabshttp://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...432072-011.jpg Fabric 1 http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...432091-012.jpg Fabric 2 http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...432106-014.jpg Fabric 3 |
Ok, I love, love the blue fabrics. I don't think it looks vanilla at all.
To be honest though I really am not that crazy about the green with those blue fabrics. just my opinion though. Did I say I love the blues :) |
Ditto to cinnya. Good luck.

I am not familiar with the pattern you plan to use, but I don't see a lot of contrast in the blues. A different green might be a better choice.
I'll be making a Dresden Plate with the pointed blades.....the colors are much more vibrant than the pics.
Love the blues-ditch the green-if you are going to put leaves in maybe you could try a more solid-ish blue or even silver Best of luck Merry Christmas
I agree with the others ditch the green. Go with white or a dark navy tone on tones.
Love the blues- the green not so much ..... what color will the plate lay on ?
I agree ... the green is interferring with the blues. The blues are beautiful together.
I also agree. The green does not fit very well. I think a touch of off white and another of deep indigo would help set off those wonderful blues you already have.
