Looks like perfect choices...your quilt will be beautiful!

So who is this quilt for? I haven't heard about another batik quilt. Love the design, a real step up from traditional ring.

My actual thoughts on the fabrics:
I like the red in the top row. Agree, use it for a few rings, but as a punch of color here and there. I think it stands out in the image because of the blues it is placed against. If between browns/neutrals, it wouldn't be as predominant.

On the bottom row, the second column (dark oranges) seems a bit off to me. You might play around a bit more with the order of the pieces. Also, I think you need one more in this row that is a shade lighter than your lightest - the rest of the columns seem to go a bit lighter.

But overall, yeah, this quilt will be bold and really fantastic. Will this be your first foray into those super sharp points?
