I have almost finished my prayer quilt and I want to use fleece on the back. How do I put it together and.......do
I need to quilt it or tie it? How?

Thanks, I found very soft fleece for the back, and hope to finish it tomorrow. Thanks for your help.

Fleece is pretty easy to hand quilt, but has alot of stretch for machine quilting.

I would rather tie fleece.

What should I tie with? How close do I need to tie? Sorry,
this is my first quilt.

I love to quilt fleece!

You can tie with yarn, but less than 6" apart between ties.

I use 6 strands of good quality embroidery thread for tying my quilts. It doesn't "shed" like yarn can. (It's also easier to get through the needle!) Fleece should be tied pretty closely...about every 5 or 6 inches, because it stretches so much. I tie mine in the 5 patch pattern like a dice has on it. Start in the center!!! Smooth out to the sides as you go and don't forget to pin it first. Good luck on your first project!

I machine quilted a kids size quilt with fleece backing with no problem. Did easy quilting, a decorative stitch over seam lines. Nice and soft for kids to cuddle in.

I did 2 queen size quilts for my boys and they requested having fleece for the backing on them both(for warmth and snuggleness). They quilted up wonderfully by machine. We used a longarm. They both had quite abit of quilting on them, one had tons of flames and the other stars echo quilted thru out the borders and inside areas.

Thanks for your help. I think I will tie the quilt!
