Need Help Naming this Pattern
2 Attachment(s)
I can spend hours designing but I have a hard time when it comes to naming a quilt or a quilt block!!
Here is the wall hanging version and a quilt version of this pattern I would love any input for names! The only thing I have come up with is Brownie Delight but that seems so run of the mill and hohum. Actually I turned the quilt blocks around on this one so it probably should have it's own name seperate from the wall hanging. |
How about chocolate mint something? But it probably should not be limited by the color palette.
How about Irish Chair Rush?
Looking at just one block..it sort of reminds me of 4 somethings sitting around a table. Could they somethings be bugs having a picnic? Or could they be in a card game?
what about " Thin Mint" like in the girl scout cookie
thanks ladies -I like all the suggestions so far. I thought about how the brown looks sort of like park benches.
But yes I also thought I should probably shy away from color names as it could be made in any color combos. |
Snickerdoodle
It does look like so many paths to the center place, with lots of little quick entries. lol.... With benches, a trip to the park, bench park, park avenue, or any variation. lol.... Fun making wild titles to see what works.
How about The Path to Ireland
Some really good suggestions everyone!
Two suggestions... Down in the Meadow or A Walk in the Park.
Peppermint Crisp
On the Frontier, or maybe Frontier Living.... just reminds me of that time period. :)

Central Park.
Your patterns are always beautiful! |
Ha! Green eggs and ham!!!
Good Times?? The first one looks like a square dance set to me..
No good at naming, but love the quilt.
I see elements of Jacobs ladder, and all together it reminds me of a garden gate.
So ..... Heavens Gate?? |
"May the Road Rise to Meet You" from An Irish Blessing.
It made me think of rick-rack or pinking shears.
Or a saw. |
I see frogs on a lily pad... (go figure - I would)
Lost in the Woods
Wilderness Pathways Deer Crossing |
The individual block/wall hanging immediately made me think of "Game-On". Don't have a reason.
I think I'd call the individual block "Park Bench", and the quilt "A Day at the Park", "A Walk in the Park", or something similar.
How about Gardens of Erin?
the first thought that came to me was Hansel & Gretel IN THE WOODS..
Hey, I've not had my coffee yet |
Garden Maze? Or Every Which way?
Unlike everyone else's resp
onses, for me it has a southwest flair to it. How about "Fiesta" Oh, BTW, very pretty pattern, would be pretty in a lot of different colors!! |
The green pieces make me think of frogs...how about Frog Jump?
All Paths Lead Home
I would agree that it could be made with any colors so perhaps not having a color in the name would be good. As is evident in the subtle way it looks a little different in the quilt compared to the wall hanging even though they are the same fabrics.
What were some of the things inspiring you when you made the block and quilt? I can definitely see a name with park or game in it. I also like fiesta, because it is a very lively pattern and fiesta always sounds lively. I am going to let it rumble around in my head for a while and check back later. |
The first thing I thought of when I saw the first one, was a Poker table.
beautiful! Labyrinth block..keeps popping in my head when I look at it:)
