I'm in the 1st set of pics 2nd picture down on the left. What a beautiful quilt you are making!

I like the one with just the border fabric, seems to make it less complicated and more elegant.

I like just the border print myself. Beautiful blocks!

I'm kinda leaning toward just the border print with no narrow strip in there; however, of all the narrow strip choices you've shown, the only one I like is the gold one, in the 2nd from the last picture. Looks like it matches the gold in the blocks and border, but hard for me to tell. For a green strip to look right, I think it would have to be an exact color match to the dk. green in the blocks.

I like the darker red ,green and gold panel border. Looks very good with the blocks you have. I think it is the 3rd picture.

My 2 cents worth: I really like the border print right next to the blocks. That small green border in the border frames the blocks beautifully. I would skip the inner white border as it makes the body of the quilt float. You did not say how you would apply the borders-the sides first and then the top and bottom. I would miter the corners of the border print. Wow! Look at some of the quilts Jinny Beyer does with her border fabric and her quilt designs.

http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...696-small-.jpgThis is the only picture I see with no light border as the first round. I like it a lot but I would like it better if the border fabric were the poinsettia fabric with the green stripes on each side. I think that would go very well right next to the quilt because the blocks have plain fabrics next to the edge for the most part.
Sounds like quilterpurpledog has about the same idea. |
I like the panel border but really they are all beautiful......

So near and yet so far, huh? Personally, my choice would be for a solid, green border before the final 2" border with the stripe to give the eye a place to rest and that way the center and the border wouldn't both be vying for attention at the same time. Just my humble opinion. Beautiful quilt!
