I have the Hinterberg Stretch Machine Quilting Frame. And it came with a set up for the foot pedal. It sat on a platform and there was a handle like a bike brake that I squeezed to control the speed. Are you sure there isn't some option like this for your frame? I'm afraid making a super long cord isn't going to fix the issue. You will still have to move the foot control, and I would think the cord would get in the way.

Would this product help?

Do you have room for velcro to put it on the machine near your hand? To put velcro on your machine and on bottom of your foot control?

Peg, I made handles for my table top frame with PVC pipe, purchased just the electric cord without the foot from a sewing place and the 'switch' I installed in the handles was the on/off switch from a torch lamp. Here are the pics.

The cord comes out one back corner for the electric and the machine. Worked really well for me. The switch was a dimmer type switch so it was on/off and speed. Get on some of the quilt machine sites on Yahoo and there are lots of different ideas to make this happen.

I think you want Nifty Grips - they convert your foot pedal into hand controls:

This is exactly what I use on my Janome on a frame. Just research which kind of plug in your machine has and match that to the model of Grace control you need. If your machine is listed in their compatability list, you're ahead of the game :) It comes with velcro straps so you can put in on the handle bars of a frame, or you could put it on your machine - on the handle maybe?

Well I would like to have a Hand Control for my Singer so I can do my Quilting without the foot control. Do anyone of you understand what I'm talking about and if so where can I get one for my SingerConfidence 7463....

I have a quilting table so the foot Control does not reach the floor, so I have to hold it in my one hand and more the sewing machine with the other hand... Not good at all.... So please Help....

Could you have someone mount the foot control on a table leg so you can use it as a knee control? One of my old sewing machines had a knee control----------and I loved it.

Yes that would be to have the cord longer then I would have to keep moving it with my foot as I quilt on a 10 foot table. I think someone out in the quilting world would know how to make one or can it be done?

Scrap my response. I didn't pay attention to the fact you are working on a long frame.
