I bought this fabric a couple weeks ago at Joann's it is a Quilters Showcase fabric. I thought I was going to use it in a project and it turned out to be to dark for the project I had in mind so I set it aside. Now I want to use it in another quilts (quilt for kids) and I would REALLY REALLY REALLY like to have the matching yellow to this. I went to two differnet Joann's today and neither had it, I asked at the one if they could check other stores that might have it but said they couldn't because they didn't have the exact bolt to go off of.

Anyways, does anyone know where I might be able to get some of this I only need 2/3 of a yard! I have done some searching online but I can't find quilters showcase fabric anywhere who makes it?
If I can't find it I did buy something that will work but not what I had my heart set on! lol

Thank you,
Danielle

Picture?

nursie76 04-02-2010 10:17 AM

How about a pic, maybe we can help.

nursie76 04-02-2010 10:18 AM

You mean the same print design just in yellow? I may be at Joanns this weekend and I will look.

Prism99 04-02-2010 10:19 AM

Is there anything on the selvedge that helps identify the manufacturer?

sewsewquilter 04-02-2010 10:20 AM

Google the name in the selvage. I have found coordinating fabrics that way.

justwannaquilt 04-02-2010 10:26 AM

Sorry all I forgot the picture at first. oops!

Nursie76 Yes the same exact print only in yellow! If you find it I would gladly pay for it and shipping and whatever else was needed!

I did google the name and info and got nothing. I even searched quiltshops.com and didn't find much using the info on the fabric. It says....CP31750 QUILTERS SHOWCASE.

sharon b 04-02-2010 10:42 AM

I also plan on going this weekend and will look. Have you tried Joanns on line ?

2wheelwoman 04-02-2010 10:52 AM

I recently bought this same fabric, and the green of the same print. I don't remember seeing a yellow version, but will look when I go back in a couple of days.

justwannaquilt 04-02-2010 11:50 AM

Yep I checked Joann's online and can't find anything under the Quilters Showcase name. This is weird normally you can find SOMETHING using the info on the fabric! Not in this case.

Thank you to everyone who offered to look for me!

sewsewquilter 04-02-2010 12:24 PM

Sorry the web search didn't work.

Grandma Cindy 04-02-2010 02:20 PM

I will head out now to the nearest joanns to me, wish us luck!

drivingsusan 04-02-2010 03:04 PM

Try this
http://www.bugfabric.com/bargain.htm
I was just there and under 'Bargain Bugs' there was fabric that looked a LOT like yours and they had it in yellow, too. But it is called QUILTING TREASURES/CRANSTON.
Good luck in your search!

wvdek 04-02-2010 03:19 PM

Sorry I can't help you. Cute.

sharon b 04-02-2010 06:10 PM

Mine had only the orange, not the yellow, sorry

cassie69emt 04-03-2010 05:20 AM

I hate to break the news to you but I think that this fabric is the Store Brand. Can't they order some in for you at your local Joanns , I know they will sometimes here do it for you.

MaggieLou 04-03-2010 05:55 AM

If you look on the receipt it should have the SKU number of the fabric on it. You should be able to call Joann's and they can check and get the yellow.

Norene B 04-03-2010 07:19 AM

Who was the company that made the fabric? That might help in looking for it.

shirlmiller 04-03-2010 11:15 AM

Your Joann's receipt will have the number on it for the fabric you bought that they can use to check all of their store inventories

Hi...I feel your pain. You might try JoAnn's on line..they sell lots of their quilt fabric on the internet.
I too have been looking for a fabric I saw once.. (and can't remember where  ) It is off white, with sketches of the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, etc. the sketches are in grey. I have called and emailed. My friends on line here might be MY LAST BEST HOPE!
HAPPY EASTER...HE IS RISEN.

while I was looking at the bargin bug site, I saw books and panels listed. Can anyone tell me how those book things are done?

justwannaquilt 04-03-2010 12:18 PM

Thank you so much Rufus2 I will shoot a pm off to you right now!!!

Clem55, the books are really neat, The way I do them is layer a low loft batting or fleece and and the next page and then sew them "birthing style" inside out so you can turn them. They are pretty easy and fun for kids. I have made several for my kids from books that I had growing up.

Recently I was looking for a particular fabric to FINISH a quilt for the family of a deceased niece. I got online, sent of swatches, to every place I knew. No Luck. Then, one day I was at Wal Mart for a lining for a baby quilt. WAA LAA there was the fabric I was looking for!!!!! Wal Mart buys discontinued fabric. Now, my Wal Mart says the fabric is going. Thank goodness for online fabric stores. Silvia

clem55 04-03-2010 02:02 PM

My KY Walmart said over a year ago that they weren'T handling fabric anymore, but after they had so many protest, it's still there.

clem55 04-03-2010 02:03 PM

thanks for instructions for book. I thought that weas it, but do they have two or more pages?

justwannaquilt 04-03-2010 04:18 PM

They normally have several pages, and what you do is lay the pages together (after they are all finished) like a book they are numbered normally and you sew down the "spine" of the book.

Unfortunately, the picture did not come through.

I believe that Quilter's Showcase is a JoAnn's store brand. Therefore you will only find it at JoAnn's.. Try one of their large stores.. a SuperCenter..The large stores generally have a frame shop and other things the smaller stores don't have. The smaller stores only get part of a collection. As far as the SKU number on your reciept.. that will only tell you the number for the fabric you bought, not anything about the collection. What you need is a helpful manager who can actually find information about the collection, then she would be able to find the SKU number you need and what stores still has some. All that information is in their computer, but you need a manager who will access to their system. Only managers can find out some information for you. Too bad their website doesn't have it on there.

Hi...I have some in blue, like 4 yds plus a remnat, but the yellow I bought is more like bubbles, 3 sizes. It was on the same shelf, but doesn't say "quilters showcase" on the selvage.
The blue, like yours, does say that on the selvage. My Joann's had these on sale for $1.99 yard a few flyers ago, back in mid-march...same time as Coupon Commotion. I bought 4 yds ea. of 5 different showcase fabrics...pretty stuff for that price. I got yellow, white and lavendar in the bubbles, blue only in your print, and a pretty black/grey paisley. If you're interested in the yellow bubbles, I could spare you some...only bought it for my stash. PM me if you want some.

Thanks again, I think I may purchase a couple for my new GG grand nephew.

marla 04-04-2010 11:55 AM

did you try Joann's website? I have a cute pattern for a baby quilt that has cats on each corner holding up the quilt. It was featured in Qultmaker back in 2002 or 3. This material would go well for that project.

craftybear 04-04-2010 12:27 PM

cute fabric

steelecg 04-04-2010 01:49 PM
