Since you have EQ7, you can do it. I did a SAS for myself for a quilt on our boat. I actually ended up paper piecing parts of it and then putting it together.
Fire up EQ and type in SAS in the search. You can make it any size or color/colors you want. Print out a picture of the quilt and then go to town coloring it. That is a great idea.
With EQ it will make it easier.

Here is my version of the quilt:

The quilt I made (see above) was king-sized (114" square) and made for my goddaughter who loves purple. I called it Purple Passion. I made 10" center squares and had a check sheet in which each diagonal row had the number of each shape to make. I ran out of fabric from the center design, so I had to put on a plain border. I was using purples that I had collected over time.

Hi im assuming your working from a pattern,so this suggestion may not be what you would want to do.but,remember the ocean isnt just blue, its also shades of green,and white(top of waves) it also has black init.
I dont know who makes this fabric or what its called, but have and seen, fabric that is solid in color, going from lite to dark. you could use fabric that has ocean scences,or water/river panels. also you need seaweed/keip.
you could at the bottom wigglely lines of colorful fabric,pointing upwards representing the ocean floor and what you see when you sucba dive. Or maybe not Dave

[I am 61 years old and don't think there is enough time left in my lifetime to make a quilt with 2021 pieces but it is a beautiful quilt. Especially since my son wants a king size quilt. I am getting the idea of what everyone is talking about. I have collected a number of different blues but think maybe some batik might be in order also. May have to make a trip into the closest town with a good sized LQS. I do have EQ7 so should be able to play with it some to see what I can come up with. If he doesn't have his heart set on a Storm at Sea, Eleanore Burns has a strip peice quilt that is based on a Monet painting and it goes from one shade of blue to the other and rather resembles water movement. Thinking it wouldn't take so long to make a king size quilt! She has water lilies on her's but you wouldn't have to do that. In fact I think it looks better without them, but that's just me. Wendy Mathson's Storm at Sea TrimPlates(and book) make this an easy construction job. Definitely print out the worksheets and color it to get the color placement just where you want. Good luck!
