I think these pattern suggestions are lovely. As a beginner I would stay away from the curves and circles. I would also stay away from the stark white. I like your other colors but would suggest a cream or some other light color from the print. The fatquarter.com pattern is a great way to showcase your print. Start easy and you will have a lot more fun and less frustration!
