Beeswax helps - Also, try moving the needle to the tip of the thread instead of the thread to the needle. Sounds funny, but it works.

I also love this product. These 57 year-old eyes need all the help they can get!

I don't think you can beat the Clover needle threader - just love mine!

When using the needle threader, hold onto the wire itself and not the "handle." :wink:

Tammy - I have the same problem but do a combo of these suggestions. I cut the thread on an angle and move the needle to the thread. And, the old fashioned one - lick the thread! I have broken many needle threaders, too. I'm going to check out the roxanne needles mentioned.

I just bought one of these. It works great - but BEFORE this neat gadget I used to run the end of the thread through one of those beeswax disks and then cut the end off at an angle. The beeswax makes it stiff enough that it goes through the eye without bending or bowing.

That works for me, too... and also one other thing: hold the thread between the forefinger and thumb very short (you should only see the end of the thread) and guide the needle's eye over it with the other hand. The needle is easier to control than the flexible thread.

Thanks everyone for the tips.. I was looking for the Roxanne needles at Joanne's but could not find them.. will look at my quilt shop.. looks like one of the clover desk threaders may be coming home from the store with me too...
