Yes I have made several quilts that I didn't like the pattern or the color of the fabric, but it was their quilt and I did want they wanted, if I could have chose the fabric I would have done something totally different, but like I said it was their quilt so I made it their way.

I have always done it the other persons way since it was their quilt.I did feel insecure about it since it was not to my tases in fabric.

Somewhere I downloaded this photo and labeled it "Heartsafloat". Can't locate it on the web. It would be gorgeous to use the fabric as the background and the solids in a quilt like this.

ditto!

Since this is not for you you do not have to like it. This is a great base for babies. If you do not want her to pick the rest of the fabric then go with the same colors. The green, blue ,pink etc. These could be print or stipe and you could really go with the imagination.

I was looking at your avatar. The same quilt in pastel versions of your brilliants or soft shades of a single color would be beautiful.

I would add some solid kona cottons the same colors as the flowers - but then again I love solids and modern looking quilts. I don't envy you.

How about a Double Irish Chain using pink and green along with your print?

Madquilter, I have to tell you that I'm not a fan of muted colors except, perhaps, to balance or enhance the bright ones, & I find the featured one in this string a bit ho-hum, but the Round Robin you led us to is absolutely beautiful!!!! I think it is the perfect answer for someone who wants to do something special and still use the colors the mama wanted.

Thanx
