I think you need to go with the dark blue(first one). Your DGM will be sew proud of you for carrying on what she was teaching you! Looking forward to seeing pics of your finished quilt.

I think the first one looks great. I can see that Granny is still with you because you are doing a great job! :thumbup:

I think a less busy navy for the background and using a yellow circle in the center of the plates will really pop it all out.
