trim

great tutorial, thanks for the link!

Ghettohound, no such thing as a stupid question!!!

I trim those at an angle, myself. There is going to be another 1/4 inch seam, so when that seam is sewed, my seam allowance is "almost" 1/4". reduces bulk. my trim is 1/16 - 1/8 at the seam tapering up quickly to 1/4", a cut of about 1/2" long on the diagonal.

If you look at the last picture, you can see she has 1/4" seam allowance at the bottom point of the yellow square. When the corner unit is attached to the side of a square or to a HST, the point won't get chopped off.

Yes, I was going to suggest rechecking your 1/4" seam. The seam allowance looks very large in the photo. Don't cut off the dog ears until you're sure it's accurate and possibly re-do
 A 1/4" foot on your sewing machine is a big help!

Was wondering what those things were called! :-)
