i am on the yahoo group for the 6500/6600 and all they do is complain about it. bobbin issues, tension etc. But alot of gals here have them and they like them.

The new Bernina was $10,000. The more I read all of your imput, the more unsure I became. I believe the Bernina is the one I want but am still choking over the price. The used one is great but not enough off to make me jump yet. I also heard that in August Bernina is supposed to be having some sort of promotion. Unsure about that though. Thing is, looking at all of the beautiful quilts you guys make, I guess its more the user than the machine??

If I could afford a Bernina, I would snap it up in a hurry, but my second choice is Janome.

I like the stitch regulator on the Bernina and the classes they have to support their product.

New models of machine are new cars don't jump on the first one out. There are quirks to be dealt with. Let someone else deal with the problems.
Pfaff is #1 for me.
Made sure the dealer can give you proper classes and service for what ever brand you purchase.

As stated before, I'm also in the market. Spoke with a Husqvarna dealer today. Does anyone own one? What's your experience with them?

My friend has a Husquvarna, she loves it

That's a tough question to answer. I would recommend that you identify the features you MUST have and those you would LIKE TO have. Then compare the machines by feature - lots of that can be done on line. Read reviews on each, TEST DRIVE and of course you get tons of info from your quilting friends here. Then decide.

I WAS a Pfaff supporter, but am somewhat unhappy with some of what my new one does (persnickety thing). SO I will check out the Janomes next.
