Well, thank you all for your choices and thank you for telling me why!! I LOVE D, but agree is it not for the border of this quilt, but it just may find its way in as the binding!! It does make my eyes go wonky and I was trying to figure out how I would quilt it! Throwing out D! And, after reading the reasoning behind the choices, C is out too.
Whichever you want ... but I definitely don't like the last choice, D.
Maybe even consider a very small almost flange like red strip to separate the border for the quilt. |
I like A best
My vote is for B.
Pat in MN |
B for sure! D kinda made me dizzy...
I like B and I like your quilt!

AND THE WINNER IS...............B!! I really appreciate all of you giving me your input and especially explaining the "why" to me. I prefer B because it is the darkest and I will use the material's pattern for the quilting of that border. I really like all the fabrics, even the one that makes you go blind (D), but I think B is the best choice for this quilt. And now that AliKat has put the bug in my ear about red/pink for a little separation....do I do it in scrappy bars of fabric (like 2.5"x5") that kinda copies the scrappy of the hearts, love knots and Delectable Mountains...or a single piece of material??? And should there be a flange of the same red/pink between border B and the binding??? This is such a fun process and I really love the input from all of you - thank you so much!!!

I like A and B. Pretty quilt!
Oops I see now I was late to the game. I think you made an excellent choice. The flange is a great idea, and D will make an excellent binding. Can't wait to see this one finished. Darren |
I LIKE B the best! Nice quilt!
I vote for B then A
I vote for B
1st choice is C 2nd choice is B. Love your quilt!
My eye kept going back to A, B is very pretty for a woman but A fits either male or female.

A is my favorite, B would be my second choice. D would make me dizzy.
I vote for B.
B is my favorite!
I have not read all the input, but will say for some reason A draws me in, but honestly, I would like any except D....and I don't like it at all.
I like A or B! Beautiful quilt!
I agree A has my vote
A or B!
C is too chunky and D just doesn't seem to fit the quilt. |

KISS....keep it simple sewer....use a single piece of fabric in the flange. Also, no. I would not put one between the border and the binding....KISS.

I like both B & C... D doesn't feel like it belongs at all. Just MHO
I like A best then C second.
B is most certainly my pick
I like B the best
I like B best
i like b the best.
C would be my favorite.
B because it does not overpower the quilt design.
Any are good, except D.
I choose b. but a is nice too.
I agree ... I like A or B....very pretty quilt!
I like B best, it adds movement without overpowering the quilt. C would be my second choice, but it's just a touch too heavy. A doesn't add anything to the quilt. D overwhelms the quilt.
A, then C for me!
I keep going back to "B" but I think it depends on who it's for. My granddaughter love's illusion so that would be "D". I like "B".
C works for me.
A or B both C&D take away from the beauty of the quilt, eyes are drawn to the border. Do you have a solid? My next question why are you using black? Perhaps one of the other colors in the quilt will make it look softer in my opinion. Yes I love black, but I don't think I like it on this quilt, but I can't see the entire quilt, from the pictures. The other colors look great.
I like B best because it does not distract from the quilt. It is more girly. A is good but a bit more neutral. C and D are way too bold for this beautiful quilt.
