like the yellow and the turquoise, but thats my opinion
thanks for askin katz |
I think the design goes together best in the first example, without any sashing. The sashing is breaking up the impact of the quilt too much and it looks much more interesting in the first one. I would be adding a red and black striped border to it as well, It is looking great. Good luck with the display.

I like it without the sashing, but if you do sashing I like the black best:)
|
Your daughter did a great job. I really like it without the sashing but if she wishes to do sashing I would vote for the black. She's on her way to becoming a great quilter!
|
I prefer the black sashing. Maybe use the yellow for a narrow first border.
|
I think the sashing, red or black, gives the blocks definition and makes you want to look at each one!
|
If you use sashing I would use either the red or black. She has done a great job

My opinion(for what it's worth:)
No sashing, then a smaller plain border,a small scrappy border (like a 2/2 of all the colors in the quilt) and finish it of with the wider plain border, bind in scrappy. |
I like all the versions - the various colors sure enhance/emphasize the different fabrics in the blocks.
Of the sashings, I think I would not use the yellow - just because it might get dirty looking more quickly than the other colors. I don't think you can go really wrong on any of the choices. I have just as much trouble making a decision as you do! |
If you decide to sash, I would use the black personally. Really cute quilt by your 10 year old.....I think you have a great quilter in the making there!
