Would it be possible to add a frame of other type of fabric such as cotton around each block to kind of frame it and hold each block together??? I would think this would help with the stretching or at least keep it under control.

That looks beautiful! You came up with a great idea!

I think i will probably not take a chance with this fabric combo. Will have to go thru my fabric stash
Can you back the homespun with a very light weight stablizer?
I have no advise either but it's a beautiful block and will make a beautiful quilt - love the soft look of your colors and fabrics.
Ooooooh I like that. Beautiful job.
just spray starch it before you take the paper off and you should be fine!
It looks nice to me. You can use anything you like in a quilt. The only thing I would be worrying about a bit is the raveling of the threads on the cut edges.

ok, here's a bit of an update...i took that half block, the one pictured in my initial post, put a scrap piece of batting behind it, and just did some quilting inside the shapes. ya know, after i did that, the fabric didn't stretch much at all...so, i might be ok using it...so happy as i really had my heart set on that combo.

Glad you decided to use it, it's beautiful! You can make it work!
