Need a pattern for this fabric

I have spent the last week organizing and I found these fat quarters and I am at a loss as to what would be a good pattern for it. So who better to ask than all the talented quilters here; there are 18 fat quarters, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

WOW!! Aren't you lucky. Those are the prints I am always looking for to make Foster kids quilts out here in Southern CA. I would made a Disappearing 9 patch. Whatever you make, it is going to be delicious with all those bright prints. Have Fun !! If there are any scraps left over when you finsih, I would be delighted to make a deal with you !!

Those are great! I definitely see a kids quilt in there. or just use the others for a bright wall hanging or table runner. Love it! Keep us posted
I would suggest Yellow Brick Road. Its a pattern specifically for lots of fat 1/4's.
I love pinwheels out of bright fabrics! Have fun!
Those are beautiful and bright! They'd be super-cute in the DinoMite pattern. (On my bucket list for a bright quilt.) Instead of a center panel, you could do squares easily.
http://www.fatquartershop.com/Free-Q...s/DinoMite.pdf Or if you just want something simple and cute, a Plus Quilt is easy. http://www.incolororder.com/2010/09/plus-quilt-tutorial.html |
can't go wrong with pinwheels ;-)
maybe cut squares or rectangles out of the animals and pinwheels out of the others. it will be wonderful whatever you make.
I would make a drunkards path with those happy colors.
My daughter made the Falling Charms top by MSQC out of an assortment of charms. It turned out really cute.
I also vote for the disappearing 9 patch. Make sure only the small print winds up in the center squares since they get chopped up.
If you add 2 more fat quarters you could do a turning twenty. http://www.google.com/search?q=quilt...CY7O9gTmpYC4DA |

Looks like it would make a nice Scrappy Trip Around the World. See Bonnie Hunter's site at quiltville.com.
A "Bento Box" would be fun with these.
Pinwheels or something else with triangles.
I would make a Dresden Plate. Let us know how you make out and send us pictures when your done..Bea Also... Buffmama showed some lovely TT quilts 4/28/2011 post #9....Check it out.
How about a cute Bento Box? Nice & bright.

How about Wickedly Easy Quilts by Annie - free pattern when you go to www.byannie.com and the pattern uses fat quarters.
I would add white as the background and make a chevron. There are quite a few freebies online buy searching chevron quilt patterns.
Those would make a beautiful dresden plate quilt with either a white or black background...
Fractions would work up really cute with those fabrics

No suggestions, I'm afraid, but those are really pretty fat quarters!
The latest The Quilter magazine has Fat quarters fun. You might fins something you like there. They have patterns for quilt's, table runners. pillows and even a apron.
Lucky you!
I see fish, very colorful fish. Like what you see on Sindy Rodenmayer, http://www.fatcatpatterns.com/boms.html |
Wow, lucky find. I see a bright kid's quilt in any number of patterns. Have fun with those fabrics.

Maple Island Quilts has a pattern called Stackables 2 that is for fat quarters. I have one on the design wall in "male" fabrics and I am going to make another using kid fabrics. It's fun and showcases the fabric. I know the picture doesn't show it well, I am hoping to have the top finished this weekend.
I was thinking Falling Charms, too...then someone mentioned the Yellow Brick Road...then pinwheels...all would look great in these fabs. And I have only read the first page of comments!
The Cheese and Crackers pattern by Atkinson designs would look stellar with this fabric plus a light background. I've made a couple of them and they turn out beautifully.
Tradewinds by Cozy quilts would look awesome.
take a look at
Fanfare by Deb Tucker |
Yellow Brick Road or Turning Twenty would show off those pretty fabrics.
I think these would be great in a Turning Twenty or Yellow Brick Road pattern. I have the Yellow Brick Road pattern if you need it.
Can't go wrong with pinwheels but you know what would be great...jigsaw puzzle quilt.
Boy I LOVE this quilt. Thank you for posting it!
