He knows that I can't do anything over my head. But he has me moving heavy machines around, moving boards. Holding the dry wall with a board. I think he just want be to be there with him. I have alway helped him and some times he forgets I can't do it, then he feels bad. :? I don't want to tell him no. I am resting today. I have to go to work a little later.

Hang in there! It will be so worth it! There were days (weeks?) I thought my sewing/work room was never going to be finished - the first it was supposed to be finished by Halloween, then by Thanksgiving - I actually got to move in stuff and finish a few things for Christmas! I was lucky because we had a contractor doing things - unfortunately after his regular job, so things had many delays. My poor DH kept asking me to prioritize things - after the walls, which thing to do next --- I tried to explain I couldn't put the machines, tables, fabric and stuff back until all the cabinets & lights were up, paint and trim on walls, etc.

You are going to have a beautiful room full of light! Keep taking pictures of the progress. And keep posting your progress!

EasyPeezy 03-03-2011 08:53 AM

Just think what a wonderful place you will have to sew in. :)
If you can't do it just tell him to find a buddy to help.

Quiltbeagle 03-03-2011 08:55 AM

Wow. It will be SO worth all the work! You're very lucky that you'll be having all that working room and a nice view to boot!

quiltingsavta 03-03-2011 04:16 PM

Lucky you.
Will fall into place quickly now.
I was in this very spot three years ago.
I had the dry wall fellows prime and
paint mine with the gun. Went fast and
they did a fantastic job.

We bought a fixer-upper in 1985 and we are still fixing it up. And now we are re fixing. But my husband says that he always knows when we are 3/4 of the way through because I always say, "We are never going to be through with this...." We will be repainting the outside this summer.

I was in a car accidsent, and kind of did the same thing, concentrating on other interests.
The room where I whelped the basenji puppies, is now my sewing room. I couldn't do the dog thing like I knew I'd want ti, so I opted out, luckily I can still sew

Just my thoughts to save you some headaches later. Would love to see it when finished.

We are not going to do any sanding. We are give it a light texture to the walls and ceiling. I can not breath the dust, not good for my lungs..
