What a wonderful gift to yourself! You are fortunate to afford it, I would have to take out a second mortgage, LOL.

Enjoy your new friend and quilting partner.

Trade ins are a dealer incentive, not related to the manufacturer. If your dealer won't take a trade in, try finding a new dealer.

That's weird. My old dealer and my new shop both take tradeins on Berninas. I agree that finding a different dealer would be the key.

I had to sell my old Bernina privately when I got my 830LE - none of the dealers in my area were really interested in taking trade-ins either. Viking has been the only company that has given me good trade-ins over the years.

I always suggested to the customer to use other resources to try to sell their machine I always felt I couldn't offer what their machine was worth I would help them advertise. Ask the dealer if they can help you sell your machine Quilt club, newspaper (free add section) Church groups. There is always someone looking for a good used machine. Consider trying on your own you may get more
Most dealers will offer you something no matter what brand.
Don't give up.

You will love that automatic threader, but what I like most is the button that u push that remembers the setting you were useing the last time you sewed! The dealer that I purchased my 820 from was really not to giving with the free instructions. A three hour class on how to use the button hole attachment? Something I doubt I will ever use as I gave up sewing clothes eons ago.
