I agree, no carpeting! I have carpet in mine and I am always trying to dig out dropped pins. Not sure how they imbed themselves!

Cutting and ironing areas that are high enough so you don't spend long periods of time bent over. Easily moved tables or carts make changing things around a breeze. I have my tables on sliders so they glide where I want them to go. A color on the walls that makes the room pleasant to be in. Pictures or wall hangings that inspire you.

Outlets, lighting and carpet.

Carpet would be the first thing to go in my room. and then shelves on all the walls unless space was needed for something else so I'd have lots of storage. DH has always said that if he ever hit the lotto that he wouldn't build me a room for my craft stuff he'd just buy me a whole house.

Great planning!

Put at least 2 electric outlets on each and every wall and put them close to waist high.

Build it bigger.....that is about the size of my room DH built on and it needs another few feet. Put in a electric quilter and took up a lot of room.

Used laminate flooring and I love it! Use a Swiffer cloth on it and takes no time to sweep up the threads and stuff I drop, can see most of the pins I drop, too.

Shelves, bookshelves, drawers for storing your stash is a must!

Enjoy!!

Lots of electrical outlets too, we never have enough of those in our studios, do we, everyone!....

I agree with this one ... we never do have enough electrical outlets in our rooms. I think we could put an entire strip along one whole wall of plugs and still need more. I keep dreaming about mine. One of these days.
