Welcome from North Carolina. This is good place to get answers. Many different ones, now you still have to choose the best choice for you.

Welcome from Alaska! You will love this board. I've been reading and learning quietly for the past few years. Now that I've summoned the nerve to begin quilting on my LA, I've received so much encouragement from these wonderful people that my confidence is much higher.
Enjoy and ask questions!

Another welcome from the Lone Star State!!! Hunter's star is one of my very favorite blocks. I usually stitch in the ditch around the segments....but i'm only using my standard machine. Be sure to let us see a picture when you've finished it. :)

Welcome from the COLD western slope of Colorado (hehe we actually are supposed to be a dry high airid desert; so much for that idea !LOL)

Welcome aboard and I know what you mean about being a bit intimidated. The work many of the members do here is incredible. I'm still working on my first quilt and everyone here has been helpful and friendly. Just keep in mind everyone here is human and at least some of those doing the incredible work probably feel the same way when they look at other's work. Just do the best you can and remember this is supposed to be fun. You'll end up with a nice quilt when you're done.
I'm going to parrot what some of the other's have said. Do a search of Ohio Star quilt images. You're certain to find at least a few ideas to inspire you.

Welcome to the Board--a nicer, more helpful group you won't find anywhere else! I hand quilt or use my DSM, so I am no help about LA quilting. I have Hunter's Star on my bucket list.

Welcome for the FL! Enjoy, you'll learn new things all the time.

Welcome from Oregon. Some of the members here are amazing artists, some are amazing quilters, and some just like making "hugs for loved ones" ('utility quilts' is what the quilt police call these.)
I have made some very pretty quilts, but none of my work would be worthy of a quilt show, and I am just fine with that. I have made a couple quilts that even resembled the patterns I started with. lol.
The best part of being a member here is no one will be critical of your work. We all ascribe to the "If it looks good when we ride by on a fast horse, it is perfect."

Welcome to the QB from Alabama!

Welcome from Central Florida. It's supposed to get to 29 degrees F tonight, with humidity &'wind. That's pretty cold for us. Let us see what you decide, as you received many good suggestions.

I like to read about other people's problems, because: although I don't have that problem now, I will find out how to fix it if I do, and maybe the information gained will help me avoid the problem.

We had a high of -19 degrees today, and now it is down to -24. No school tomorrow either.
