Moda still retails for $11.99 per yd. I've seen a couple digital prints at $14.29 per yd, but that's the highest we have in our local shop. Riley Blake just went up from $10.89 per yd to $11.49.

The business owners I know are all at the brink with the higher min. wage. They had to cut employees and now have to work extra hours to fill in, not getting any extra profit for it if they don't raise prices. They don't care about the tariffs, said it was a drop in the bucket compared to the high min. wages.

Fortunately, not yet. There are limits to what everyone can spend. There are many wonderful shops in my area and I hope they are all able to stay open.

2years ago, there were 5 shops in my area and now, just one remains...so sad!

I have been on a mission to use the fabric in my stash for a couple of years now, so I haven't seen the "jump" referred to in this thread. Rarely shop for fabric. My primary purchase now is wide backing which is usually $16 to $20 per yard and from a small quilt shop. The left overs from these cuts satisfy my desire to keep buying more fabric. :D

I have been warned prices will soon be $16 a yard in the US. How I love my stash!

Being retired I definitely notice the grocery cart total!

I have been shopping, when I do buy, from clearance fabrics for some time as the prices have gone so high of newer LQS fabrics. I agree with others here that it most likely has to do with the politics of the day and tariffs

Luckily I have not seen a drastic change (yet). One of my LQS is about $12.95/yd and the other is a little less...still at $11.95/yd. I expect to see both of their price tags go up in the coming year.

My last two quilts have been 99.9% from my stash. I do still buy fabric, but most comes from the SR Harris Outlet stores. I'm fortunate to have 2 locations in the Twin Cities, and their fabric is always 50% off, and they will honor competitor coupons. Most fabrics are originally $12 or $13 so I can do a lot of damage for $6+ a yard! I do agree that in general, things, especially groceries, have been going up and up.
