I have a Procter Silex 17135. I have had this for at least 4 years. It's great.

I have the Black and Decker Classic with no auto shut off. I use the $6 or $9 dollar irons from Walmart for fusible and applique work. I recently bought the new Clover Wedge iron and it's great for a portable iron. I have several old Sunbeam irons for back ups.

The link for Walmart was put in automatically. I had nothing to do with it.

I use a B & D Classic. My last one kept going for almost 20 years. This one is now going on 3 years. :)

Dottymo, I'm with you as I seem to go thru irons quite regularly, mostly the steam part goes out or starts to leak on the fabrics so haven't replaced this last one as its only a year old so I'm back to spray misting my fabrics when needed instead of using steam. I am looking into one of those hand held steamers though for when I need to put steam on a quilt sandwich with fullness while its on the frame. Any suggestions?????

I was in Costco the other day and they had a Rowenta for under $50.

I have one of these. No steam, no holes in the bottom, no auto shut-off. I have a spray bottle of water and another of Best Press if I need it. I love it!

I got my last one at the dollar store and the one before that at WAlmart. I still miss my GE from having it for over 40 years.

I got mine from QVC for about seventy dollars on special. It is a rowenta mercedes and it gets seriously hot, steams like a champ and I love it.

I bought a new to me type of iron this week. A singer steam press. The board is around 25 inches long and has a lid like a waffle iron that comes down to press your clothes. Like the ones a cleaners uses. Hopefully this will solve my wrinkled clothes ironing problem so I have more time to sew! LOL... There is only so much time in a day, right?

My Rowenta I purchased in 1980 gave it up last month. So after such great service I began shopping for another Row. I found a new one on Ebay for $45 and free shipping. I love it! I feel like I am driving a limousine. I also have a small Row at my sewing station. :)

I've been looking at this one by Reliable: http://www.reliablecorporation.com/P...-Enviromate-P7
You might need to order the cotton steam cleaner cover separately, I'm not sure what all comes in the 15-piece accessory kit. My brother & SIL just ordered one & it does come with the garment steam cover but there's a separate cover specially designed for cotton fabrics. We used a commercial Reliable steamer when I used to work at a nice clothing store & it was the most amazing thing ever. Heated up in no time & steamed the wrinkliest garment in 2-3 minutes flat. I keep wondering if I'd be better off with one of those & a tailor clap than with these constantly failing irons.
