I made my first quilt 40 years ago. I was 7 at the time. I still have it -- it keeps me humble ; )

I became facinated with quilting in 1961. My best girlfriend's mother was from Poland and she made quilts from old blankets and sheets sewn together by hand and hand tied with embroidery thread. I started making them at the age of 11 from old sheets and blankets I got from my mother. I made my first pieced quilt shortly after getting married in 1969 and haven't stopped since.
