I had so much fun with last weeks poll I wanted to do another. (if I need permission from the moderators to do this please let me know) Since we are around the globe I will leave this one open until Wednesday with results on Friday. Takes a while to compute them all. LOL

How long have you been quilting? Quilting because we are a quilting board.

3 years for me...and it only took the first quilt top for me to be addicted!

I have been quilting for 6 years. It all started, when I was doing counted cross stitch. I did an alphabet, which needed to be made into a quilt, which then became a wall hanging!

I have been sewing for over 65 years, quilting for just 4. My dear departed neighbor got me started. When she passed, her husband gave me her sewing machine, her stash (not too big) and a quilt top she had been making for me. So every stitch I take I think of her.

I've been quilting for 6 years.

I have been sewing for about 53 years--made most of my own clothes and my children's clothes when they came along. Quilting for about 27 years serious for about 15 years. Obsessed for the past 10 years.

If you count the very first time I hand pieced little squares into a 9 patch when I was around 8 years old, It would be 66 years. I have made quilts off and on ever since. A lot the first 12 years of marriage and took a break and quiet a bit the last 12 years.

2 years

Been sewing for for 47 years, quilting for 40 years.

I started sewing about 50 years ago -- mostly clothes and home dec items. It's been in the last 10 years that I have gotten seriously into quilting. (Although I still buy more fabric than I actually utilize!)

one and a half years

real quilting, about 3 years. I've made 1 wall hanging, 1 baby quilt, and about 15 tops for charity.

49 years of quilting for me. I stated quilting in 1962, to be best of my recollection.

Of course there were periods where I wasn't active, but I do remember making my first quilt with my mom's help, drawing around square cardboard templates made out of cereal boxes when I was 8 years old. It was a scrappy quilt made of 4" squares, no binding-sewn and turned "envelope style" instead, and tied with red yarn.

Sewing for 40 years, off and on... (mostly off) Quilting for 5 years or so... Seriously quilting for about 2 years...

Only 4 years here.

I started my first quilt when I was 19 and finished at 20. I’ve been making quilts for 31 years.

16 months, and still struggling. :roll:

Quilting for 7 years, sewing for much longer than that.

Made my first quilt with I was 17, but it was tied. Made many childrens quilts as my kids were growing up, but didn't actually make a "Quilted" quilt until I watched my first episode of Simply Quilts, back in the late 90's. To be fair, I can say that I have been quilting for 15 years.

30 yrs for me. Sure have learned a lot from other quilters along the way too.

2 years for me-started with a double wedding band for my daughter

7 years quilting consistently. Sewing & embroidery for 40 years off & on.

Been researching quilts about 5 yrs building my stash about 4 years actuall quilting less than a year

I've been sewing about 47 years. Gramma helped me make my first quilt at 11 putting together 3" squares of leftover fabric from dresses she had made for my and my cousins. Then I started sewing aprons and clothes during the rest of my school years. I didn't pick up quilting until 23 years later when I really needed some girl time as I had 3 small boys, my DH and my FIL at home. Too much testosterone for me. It's been a blessing ever since.

I have been quilting on and off for 26 years.
I have sewn since I was 8 so... 37 years, I made a doll quilt when I was 8 years old, and many, many clothes and doll clothes until I started really quilting.

I have also been sewing since 1949 (62 yrs) quilting for 26 yrs. although I consider myself a "piecer"...the quilting part is not my forte'. Anne
