I am quilting my first quilt right now - yeah me! It is a lap size disappearing nine patch with blues and browns.
Three things I found out that I love. #1 - Dream Poly Batting (Awesome is all I can say!) #2 - Rubber finger tips (I would be too hot with the gloves, so the sweet lady at the quilt shop recommended these) #3 - This Message Board (Everyone is so friendly and encouraging) Happy Quilting! Deb |
Forgot to say that I am quilting on a standard machine.

Hi from Ohio!
|
Hi, and good luck with your quilt! Hope to see a picture in due course. and p.s. - I love my rotary cutter and mat, (my first quilt was cut the old fashioned way) my quarter-inch foot, and my Brother QC1000. Oh, and of course, this Board.
|
I love fabric, LOL!!! My favorite tool is my 3x18 ruler, it's the perfect size for all of my cutting. I also love my Bailey LA because it has allowed me a whole new way to be creative. I use the rubber fingers when hand quilting instead of a thimble. They are good for protecting sore fingers. Welcome from Nebraska!

Welcome from Alabama. I love everything about quilting.

Welcome from North Carolina. I started quilting a year and a half ago (just to have a "past-time".) Well, quilting immediately turned into a true love - I too love everything about it - too much to learn, not enough time! I read on the QuiltingBoard everyday - it is very informative and the people are great!

Hey Deb,
Welcome from Louisiana! I agree.... the people on the board here are amazing! There's no problem they can't solve, no pattern they can't name, no gadget they haven't used, and no end to the advice they are willing to share. Happy Quilting! Jeanelle |

Hello and welcome to the board from Michigan!!
|
Welcome Deb to the board. This is an amazing board like a family. I hope you would always enjoy your quilting, and don't worry i started quilting with an 8 year old brother machine that i got from Costco and enjoyed every moment of it, then started upgrading and spoiling my hobby of quilting . :D
|
Welcome from Arizona. I too love this board. I've learned a ton of stuff from it, and everyone is so encouraging. Good luck with your first quilt. Can hardly wait to see pictures.
|
I love this forum. I have been sewing for many years, quilted off and on while my children were growing up. Once I had granchildren I started quilting more. This site is SO very helpful & it feels like I am back in college & am really learning alot. Thanks to all that contribute. I also love my Bernina 830, both for quilting & for embroidering. I love the huge harp & The large design area. I don't think there is anything I dislike about quilting.
|
Good for you quilting is so much fun and this board is awesome.
|
I read the QB every day, but don't respond a lot. Find that my ideas are already posted. It is a great site and questions and answers are great. Nice to be part of a group like this.

Welcome from central Minnesota
|
Welcome from Seattle, WA. I, too, read the board everyday, but often don't respond because others have said what I would say.
I have saved so many pictures and ideas from this board on my computer I may need to get more memory installed!!! The one problem I have with it (the board) is that I spend so much time here I don't get as much as quilting done as I would like to. It's a trade-off, I guess. Happy quilting! |
Welcome from Texas....warning, this board is addictive...
