I purchased the square in a square ruler at the local quilt show, they said that you would never have to cut or sew a half square triangle again. I bought the ruler and DVD, came home and watched the video, then I went to the cutting table and cut and sewed just like the video instructed and OH My, it is amazing!! I love this ruler, I can make a square in a square, half square triangle flying geese, star patterns and every time they are perfect as long as my center square is cut accurately...I am in love with this.

BMP 10-02-2011 10:57 AM

Saw it demoed yesterday, I really like the easiness but there certainly is alot of waste so I passed

lslaton 10-02-2011 11:22 AM

yes you can make very small ones or larger ones. It works great.

lslaton 10-02-2011 11:24 AM

Its works great for me and I don't mind the waste since I can never get my half square triangles square.

quilter68 10-02-2011 11:42 AM

What does the ruler look like, Please?

cmrenno 10-02-2011 11:47 AM

I have this ruler also. Just watch those bias edges. I use a lot of starch on my fabric to keep it from stretching.

cmrenno 10-02-2011 12:05 PM

Its a great ruler but be careful of the bias edges. I use starch on my fabric to prevent stretching.

I had this ruler still in the package and decided to donate it to my guild's silent auction. I bid to get it back but someone over bid me at the last minute. LOL.

toadmomma 10-03-2011 03:58 AM

I just picked one up at a quilt show yesterday. cant wait to use it, I was sold the book and told there are videos on you tube

psychonurse 10-03-2011 04:00 AM

Thank you for the referral. I just ordered it, and am anxious to see if I can do this. I did not see a video offer just the book. I hope this works out for me. LOL

lslaton 10-03-2011 04:17 AM

You can call the 888-624-6260 and tell them that you did not see the DVD when you ordered your book and ruler and they will set you up with the DVD. Also if you have any questions with the ruler or how to use it, you can call the 888 number and tell them your problem and they will be glad to help you. That is what Jodi Barrows says in the DVD.

dls 10-03-2011 04:58 AM

I've had one for years and like it. I have not seen the DVD though.

Since we are talking about rulers, does anyone know where to find a 2.5 inch ruler that is longer....12" 18" or 24"? I have one that I think is 2.5 x 6, but would surely like to have a longer one....

pjnesler 10-03-2011 05:59 AM

Sounds like I should look for the YouTube tut...

jaciqltznok 10-03-2011 06:27 AM

I sent your post to my friend Jodi Barrows of SNS...she just loves it when it makes someone happy!

Happy quilting!

I looked and creative grids has one that is 2.5" x 12.5", and one that is 18.5", Omni grid has a 2.5" x 18".

I hope that helps!

unclefreckles 10-03-2011 06:36 AM

Thanks for the information. I will check it out. Sounds great.

I went to the web site but was disappointed because there are no demos for the square in a square ruler. Also no sizes given. Regular and mini doesn't tell me anything. Inches would.

Another ruler I bought a long time ago after watching her video.
Not used, a waste of money.
If it is not simple it dosnt get used.
I liked her quilts so thought Id use it but have not.
For HST I prefer Quilt In A Day's triangle square up ruler. No waste and one cut to square up.

pcq42 10-03-2011 06:49 AM

love that ruler

I passed that on to Jodi as well,, you are correct, it was confusing to me as well.
A new person would have NO idea of what size blocks the ruler makes!

quiltmouse 10-03-2011 06:58 AM

I love Anita!

Love this ruler!! have been taking a quilt class with it. Jodi was here and bought all 3. Will do another class on using the other 2 rulers next.

Wintersewer 10-03-2011 08:25 AM

I could not find a picture of the ruler....just books about it....and they are not cheap.

I have the mini and it is 6 x 12 inches

GJoyce 10-03-2011 10:50 AM

OH My, I saw one of those at Joann'e the other day and wondered how it worked. Didn't have any DVD though so passed it up.

JudyFeist 10-03-2011 12:15 PM

I went to the site, but still don't know what it looks like. The only show the book!

Kathy Osterby 10-03-2011 12:51 PM

You have to continue rolling the site and you will find the ruler and tutorial for using it. Try www.quiltinglyyours.com. I found it there I think.
