I recommend Brother machines all the time because my sewing machine mechanic told me they are the best machines being made now.

It's an attachment that goes on the plate and helps the feed dogs move the fabric. It looks like the tip of a large pin. Is good for slippery fabrics, or heavy fabrics like velvet or corduroy. I have one but have not had to use it.

The pin feed is NOT an attachment, it is part of the feed dog apparatus that you can select on your feed dog settings of which there are 4. The pin feed acts much like a walking foot but is much more of a positive feeding mechanism since the pins come up from the bottom and actually engage the fabric to move it backwards. This is the best I can do to explain the feature, but I love the option to use it when needed.:)

I also have a few Brothers- the NX2000 Laura Ashley, the NX400, and the SE270D. I am thrilled with all of them but now mainly use the NX2000Laura Ashley. I do FMQ on the NX2000 but am having some difficulty getting the tension just right on the underside. My dealer said it was because of the differential feed and it needed more tweaking because of that. Does anyone else FMQ on the NX2000 and do you have any difficulty getting the tension right? Love my Brothers!!!

Mom and I each ordered one last week. She gets hers tomorrow and I get mine Wednesday. I can't wait! I tested one of these out and really liked the stitch quality. I have a travel Janome 3160 and the Horizon. I love those both too, but really liked how this one stitches. It was super smooth. Can't wait to get it in my hot little hands.

wow someday ill get brave enough to quilt my own quilts rather than quilt by check. im glad to know theres a good machine out there to help me accomplish this i already own a brother its my main machine to sew on and im very happy with it so the fact that you like yours so much doesnt suprise me. as a matter of fact i felt the same way after i bought my brother after a disastrous experience with a singer. i was beginng to think it was me being such a beginner
that i couldnt operate the singer but other people had problems with it too so it wasnt just me. my dmil had one just like it and it didnt like her either i think it was defective but not sure.
