You sound so excited about your new machine! It's always fun to try something new and even better when you love it. Congratulations and happy quilting. :)

If you are in the market for a new machine, I sure do have a recommendation. First I am in no way connected to the Brother company either in marketing or manufacturing. I have sewn on a lower end Janome for years. That includes piecing and quilting. It has been a good machine and I have no complaints. I decided to buy a Brother PQ1500S (quilters machine) off of EBay for just under $600 because it had a larger harp, not because I felt I needed a new machine. The PQ1500 does not have any fancy stitches but wow does it sew like a dream. It weighs more than my old machine and sews over seams and intersections without any pause. I never realized I was fighting my old machine but this machine is a dream. I hope this doesn't sound like an advertisement but I am so excited I had to share.

Congrats to you. I have a Brother Embroidery Machine PE 350 and I love it. I also have other machines but this one is so good it seems. I want to get into the embroidery but am afraid I'll break it. Good Luck. Sue

I have had my Big Brother (1500) for about 5 years or so now. I got it to do piecing and loved it for that purpose. Then DH bought me a frame to use with it. It was so difficult trying to keep it on the frame since I really enjoyed piecing with it. I now have dedicated it to the quilting frame and use my little Brother (pc420prw- I bought for myself for xmas) for piecing....thread cutter, auto threader and lots of fun things!

I love my Brother Laura Ashley 2000 Innovis so much that I purchased a smaller Brother machine that sews and embroideries so I can carry it out and about.

I just got the same machine today! I've been sewing on a Brother CS6000i and had a lot of trouble doing free-motion quilting on it. So I bought the PQ1500S because of the larger throat area. After getting the tension adjusted, I tried free-motion quilting and it was like magic! I had such a hard time before and now I can do it so easily with no ugly loops on the back side! If I didn't have to sleep, I'd sew on that thing all night! I love my new Brother PQ1500S!
