This is the latest project that I just finished. I made it from four fat quarters that I got on clearance for 50 cents each. Not bad, huh? It was fun to make and has all the pockets inside like the bowtuck but easier to make, IMHO.

you did a great job! it's pretty.

sandy14 06-10-2011 05:21 AM

I would to have the pattern. Could you tell me where you purchased it so I could get one? Especially since you said it was easy. That is what I like.

Nice work and thank you for sharing.

The pattern is from Quilts Illustrated designed by Penny Sturges. I bought it at Joann Fabric but I have seen them online also. I put snaps on mine instead of the ties that are on the pattern. Personal preference.

frauhahn 06-10-2011 05:26 AM

Very cheerful!

What kind of stiffening did you put in it. Looks so nice

Lucky Lady 06-10-2011 05:54 AM

I used Pellon 987 fusable fleece. It is bulky to work with but used my walking foot for the whole thing and stitched at a slower speed. I tend to stitch too fast and sometimes break needles.

debp33 06-10-2011 06:57 AM

I've never tackled a bag.

Nice job!

Maggiemay 06-10-2011 07:06 AM

BJ SewKkrazzy 06-10-2011 08:45 AM

Is this a pattern, or a book with instructions?

Mariposa 06-10-2011 08:46 AM

Cute bag!

grammy17 06-10-2011 08:47 AM

Great bag. I LOVE pockets for everything.

Butterfli19 06-10-2011 08:50 AM

Love the fabric! You know, I think you have to love the fabric if you want to love the end result. If you're iffy about the fabric or using it because you have it, your heart won't be in it. (no pun intended!)

Nice and cheery for summer, too!
