Scissor Queen, thank you for the instructions to make the blocks and a picture of your finished quilt. Great way to use up some scraps.

I have used newspaper to make patterns etc. only problem is the stain on your hands

Don't know if this will help but years ago I read to iron (yes use the iron) your newspaper and the ink won't rub off on your hands. I tried it then and it does work to keep ink off your hands. You might try this to see if it will work for fabric too. Don't really see why it wouldn't work though. If someone tried this please let me know if it does or does not work. Thanks

The paper was kept in for insulation. Now adays we remove but use batting not always able to out anything inside so paper left.
