The directions say lights and darks so you could probably do it scrappy very easily.

I love the idea of scrappy..
ooooh I envision All scrappy in similar blue and white... |
I like it. I think it would work rather nicely. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Sharon1,
The heart quilt I posted on page 1 is a personal design done in a Quilt Sitters Circle challenge. QSC was an after-hours group held in quilt shops which had taught It's Okay quilting classes as designed by Mary Ellen Hopkins in the 1980/90s. The challenge required us to use some of her personally designed fabric, use hearts and bowtie done in her technique, place the design on the diagonal, and use black somewhere in the design. Each quilt needed a story. This one represented my experience with Floyd Ward Dancing School 1957. The hearts were the girls, the bows were the boys, chaperones stood in the corners with Mary Ellen's fabric in the border. The figures in the middle were the couples demonstrating the dance steps. This quilt is lap sized. I'm sorry, there is no written pattern. Jan in VA |
We will all be looking forward to the pictures when you're finished

I think making it in just 2 colors, as long as there is enough contrast, would work very well. Go for it!

I would like to know the source of the pattern too. Is it a freebie?
