I put a dowel rod in front of the back legs of my sewing table. It keeps the pedal from going out of foot reach. I have ceramic tile so it's hard to find something that holds. I have had good luck with the sticky removable tape used to keep cats off furniture. This tape is good for holding a seam guide on the machine. It leaves no residue. I think I have one of the dashboard mats. I'll try it.

Years ago, I bought a quarter yard of rug backing and rubber shelf lining at Joanns. I cut a chunk of rug backing for under the pedals of my machines and cut the shelf liner into squares and use it when I FMQ. Faster and easier than gloves and they throw right into the drawer when not in use. I only paid $2 for the rug backing and since the shelf liner was on clearance - it cost 50 cents! Only problem is that I should have bought a bunch more of it to give to friends.

I bought a rubber potholder/trivet and put my foot pedal on it. Got it at Walmart for $2-3 bucks. Works great!

Great tip, would be good to put in my class supplies, as I never know what sort of floor will be at workshops.

I use a rubber floor mat from the back seat of a car. It has little nubbins on the bottom to grip the carpet and the top has some ridges on it that grips my foot pedal. They came in a set of 4 and I used the front ones in the car and the other back one I use on my other machine.

I got a roll of the self stuff at walmart you use to keep dishes from sliding , cut in few inches larger than foot pedal has lots of uses! Even made bath Matt's and sewed some strips on back to keep them in place for a handicapped friend!

Don't know what this pad is made of. There is no glue but it sure sticks and

position the pedal where you want it to be then stick the mat underneath.
Oh and make sure the surface is clean before you apply otherwise it might
not stick properly.

my solution to foot pedal problems, I never used one. lol I learned to sew 6 years ago on a janome and my friend showed me how the buttons on it worked for on /off, cutting, needle up/down. I just kept working on it till I was comfortable. never used a pedal before. give it a try you will be surprised how convenient it is.

Wish I'd seen this a long time ago. Where did you buy it? I ended up buying a rubber backed cheap floor mat. Cut it and did swipe of Spray Baste. It sticks to the floor too. I put some little round velcro sticky's on my pedal and that sucker does NOT move. I do have to clean the spray off the floor though. But it comes right up with a spray of vinegar.

I use that rubber mesh shelf liner to put on the bottom of chair cushions I make. They don't slide around and I don't have to make those ties that always rip off.
