No more pedal chasing for me

I finally moved my sewing machines around. My Janome 9400 sits
on the rug and my Janome 6600 is on vinyl. The pedal kept sliding on
the vinyl. So I bought a dashboard sticky pad for $10.00 (CAD). It's big enough
for two average size pedals. Cut it to size. Works like a charm. Should work fine
on tiles. I would not use it on rugs. Not sure about wood.
Don't know what this pad is made of. There is no glue but it sure sticks and
it is removable. The only problem is that it will need cleaning once in a while
because there is a gap under my pedal. But it beats having to chase that pedal
every time. Both sides of the mat are sticky so nothing moves. Just have to
position the pedal where you want it to be then stick the mat underneath.
Oh and make sure the surface is clean before you apply otherwise it might
not stick properly.

I never heard of a dashboard sticky pad but I looked it up and it looks like it will work. $10 on Amazon so I'm going to try it. I have two other pads under the table and the foot is not on either one anymore. It just floats around down there on its own.

I thought I was the only one who had this problem! This is exactly why I love knee levers or whatever they're called. No more chasing the pedal!

I bought some super strong, industrial hook and loop tape, and stuck the rough side on the back of my pedals. Now they do not move around on my carpet. Works great.

When I bought my Janome 6600, I learned to use the on/off button and left the door pedal in the package. I was afraid that my lack of coordination with the knee lift and using a foot pedal might cause me to sew my fingers. I often use the knee lift while fiddling with the needle. I’m confident I won’t accidentally hit the on/off switch at the same time.

I have knee controllers on 3 of my cabinets and I have never been able to get comfortable with them. I do chase the peddle everywhere on my wood floors but I am hesitant to put any kind of pad down. It looks like the sticky pad is perfect for vinyl flooring.

Think of chasing the pedals as some leg and foot exercises that might be helpful for one's circulation if one tends to stay at the machine for a long time. lol
