(PS when I told my DD about you, her quip back was "Some people will do anything to get out of Christmas Baking!!!) katesnanna 12-17-2011 06:39 AM

You have my thoughts and sympathy. I tore a tendon in my shoulder just before last Christmas. I'm sure a broken shoulder is a lot more painful. I wish you a speedy recovery and a very Merry Christmas.

6 weeks, BUMMER! I hope you heal well and the time goes fast. I am sure it's going to be a miserable 6 weeks but a good excuse to skip the holiday work.

dunster 12-17-2011 06:43 AM

Oh dear, so sorry you're hurt. Take care of the injury, make the most of the time you have for other pursuits, and get well soon.

traveler53 12-17-2011 06:48 AM

So sorry to hear that. You can look through all the quilting magazines and books and line up all the projects that you can sew once your shoulder is healed. Have a Merry Christmas

Oh no! That sounds so painful. Would be a great time to read quilting mags or if you have any computer programs (ex. EQ7) you could dream and design your future projects.

hperttula123 12-17-2011 08:00 AM

So sorry to hear that. Hope you heal up quick.

patchsamkim 12-17-2011 08:01 AM

So sorry that happened to you...hope you heal quickly! Hopefully doing some quilt dreaming/looking at books and magazines will help you get through this healing time.

Anna O 12-17-2011 09:17 AM

Sorry about your shoulder injury. I am suffering through shingles right now and can't sew/quilt either. It's sure not fun. Although I can use the computer and get into "trouble" ordering fabric, patterns, etc. Merry Christmas!

rusty quilter 12-17-2011 11:19 AM

Maybe this is God's way of telling you it is time to rest a bit...I am sorry for your pain, but who knows what adventures you will find yourself entangled in once you recover!

sewbeadit 12-17-2011 04:49 PM

My gosh, what a terrible time to have that happen. So sorry for you, will think of you. Hope you have someone that can help, would be awful at this time of year!

Cottontop 12-17-2011 04:52 PM

Once when I had the worst cold ever, all my co-workers each had different advice about which "spirit" to drink. I told the boss I was going home and take everyone's advice. My very best wishes that you mend quickly and have a blessed Christmas.

nite&dayquiltlady 12-17-2011 06:35 PM

I can relate. Thanksgiving of 2010 I fell while riding my bike ( and answering my cell phone) and broke my
right shoulder. While my arm was in a sling I found I could turn my machine on and even lower the presser foot with my'
left hand so I made tons of scrappy squares just feeding them with my left hand. I used a method I do not know the name of, but you keep adding scraps (small pieces around 2 or 3 inches) to the right side and rotating it until it is big enough to cut a 5 inch square from. I could do this as the stitching did not have to be exact and I could trim them with scissors as I could not use my rotary cutter. When I could finally use my right arm I made a quilt from those squares
and called it my broken arm quilt. To good luck to you and I know you will find a way
