Why not do a whole cloth quilt for them.
I agree with those that are saying that it is usually color choices that make a busy quilt. Any two or 3 color pattern would be great. An irish chain on white background would be great
When I think of not busy...it's the fabric and not necessrily the pattern, try one in marbles or batiks. I did one for my husband...he said definitely NO FLOWERS so I used marbles and batiks and he loves it (or he says he does, he's a smart man LOL)! I used half square triangles and just kind of drew out a ohio star for the center surrounded by chevrons...you know, more of a guy looking quilt, I also used earth tones which kept it from being busy.

Check out Eleanor Burn's Love Knot. Beautiful quilt, easy to make and uses 4 colors.
Yes, I will do that....I appreciate everyone's input. And I am going to try that 10 minute block.
That batik husband quilt sounds beautiful. I think I will look for some batiks that blend.....I think brown is the color they want.
Sounds like you may just want to do one of your favorite patterns in neutrals. This way you do something you like, and the use of neutrals keeps it from being "Too Busy".
Good luck and show us what you wind up doing! |
an Irish Chain. A Drunkards Path. Any two color quilt would be nice!
Bro. deemed Drunkards Path, too busy. Did I say particular? Double Irish Chain in the right colors is definitely an option.
Thanks for the Good Luck wishes. Neutrals definitely!
