Still looking for wools, I stopped @ local Salvation Army today. They have a Singer for sale, $60. This is @ the SA in Canandaigua, NY. No idea as to operating condition.

WOW, it's outside is much better than the one I bought 30 years ago. But I was lucky, mine only needed a new belt...

Love the machine.. Wish I was closer to you, as I was in Unique ( thrift store), and they had a couple of wool blankets.. dirt chep, but I don't know what to do with them..

Just curious, where is the SA in Canandaigua? I don't think I've found that one. Thought I knew all the thrift shops in the area

South Main Street. If you are going toward the lake, it would be on the right.

Do you know if this is Model 115? I went to look at one last night in my town where the decals were beautiful like this but the paint (is it called 'japan'?) was crackled just to the right of the needle plate. It was about a 3" diameter of crazing so I passed it up.

Wow, you're in Canandaigua. I'm originally from Phelps:) small world! My dad still lives up there and he's been scouting vintage machines for me:)

Wish I was closer.

gosh, sometimes i wish i lived in new york

that is all i want to add to my sewing machines- is a treadle- for when there is no power.

how are you doing on your wool search?
i really need to get some wip's finished up so i can play in my wools- i have a couple i need to wash- maybe today :)
but besides getting them washed i haven't had time to work with them...now that fall has arrived i am so...motivated :)

I need to try the Salvation Army. The Goodwill stores have been shipping all theirs off to shopgoodwill.com and then putting high reserves on them. I like looking around for attachments too. Maybe I'll go for a ride after all tomorrow. Did they happen to have any other sewing related items?

It looks to me like it is a 66 model, I have the same machine with those decals in my parlor cabinet . When it is polished up the decals are stunning!
