I think it's fun to see where everyone is from, especially those from "furin" places -- I love seeing their photos -- I met my quilting buddy on line here -- we email often and exchange ideas and just talk about what we are doing -- we get together from time to time and sit together at guild meetings --

I keep hoping to hear from someone from my home town in WV, would love to hear about this and that happening. Only one male second or third cousin writes (emails) and he doesn't seem very interested in his own or our family or history. |

I'm not sure why I look an extra minute at those quilts from other countries. It seems so unreal to me I can communicate with others so far away. |
Hi Judy - I love to see where people are from -----
I'm from Shoreview - close |
I always look just in case I can find a new local quilting friend. I wish new people would put their location when they "introduce" themselves.

I have a wonderful new friend from this grp. as well. We live half way across the country from ea. other but our lives & interests are very similar. It's so much fun to share our quilting experiences with ea. other. |
It's fun to see all the home "ports" for everyone.
Thank you I just updated my profile.
Thanks |
I look all the time. My family tells me to stop telling them where everyone is from.
I love seeing where everyone is from - amazing seeing all the different locations.
I too always look where people are from. Not sure why they want to be in hiding
I was "in hiding" when I first joined the board 'cause I couldn't figure out how to enter it. I'm so computer illiterate  Finally figured it out.
when i put my profile in originally i didn't scroll down far enough to see all the other questions. i was wondering how so many people had lots of information posted. thanks to this thread i found out. i have come out! i'm no longer in hiding.

Judy,
You and I are amazed at little things. It makes the world a small place when we can talk to people from all over the world. I love it!!! I had a nice conversation with a lady from Spain and Germany. She told me about her quilting and how and why she did it. We had a very nice exchange of information. Her's was whole cloth quilting with the top and bottom one piece of fabric, the pattern of stitches was the pattern on the quilt. The stitches were so perfect and straight and small. This quilt board has exposed me to so many ideas that I never thought of. I enjoy reading posts from everyone. The terms they use to express themselves are comical to us but normal to them. But it is cute. It makes my day to sit and read the post from all. I have made many friends in the short time I have been on the board. Love to all Caro P |
I always look to see where you all are from. It's a thrill to see someone else from my neck of the woods. And it's amazing to see someone from Japan or Australia or Germany!
I've always wondered why some say "in hiding"!!!??
I, too love to see where everyone is from. I enjoy seeing folks from my home state of Colorado, even thought here are millions of folks living there now. I enjoy seeing folks on here from neighboring states of Utah, Wyoming etc. Some of the quilters from around the world amaze me too with their creations. One that comes to mind is the bears in bed mini quilt. I think the quilter lived in Switzerland. We all have a common bond of quilting and this board and the internet make it all possible. I am so very grateful that this is a free site and I thank all the sponsors who let it continue that way! Hugs to all of you where ever you are.

Another "Rose" here. Rosedale, Indiana.
I updated my location. Checking to see if I did it correctly. :-D
I love to see where everyone is!
I always look, too. At some point I might find someone close to me that might like to carpool to the great fabric shops, or go on shop hops together, or just sit and quilt together for a few relaxing hours. It also fascinates me to see how widespread and diverse the membership is.
I usually check where people are from. Amazing when people are from Hungary and Russia and south Africa.
I'm always looking to see if there is anyone close by to quilt with or shop with.
always look and hate it when they are in hidiing

Yes, me too. Look how many quilters we have on this board? It is great. We are all over the world now.
me too
I love to see the other states and countries that are on here.
Well look at our hometowns! I'm from Roseville too! Roseville, California that is.
I agree that it is nice to see where other people are from. People who visit Hawaii always PM me to ask questions and I really don't mind at all. After all, don't we all have the same enjoyment of quilting together and sharing???
Thank you so much for asking the question - I have wanted to declare my hometown but didn't know how. Now is is changed!! Thanks again.

Love seeing where everyone is from.

I love to see where everyone is from, that is how I found a quilter in my daughters neighborhood. She will be quilting my first quilt while I'm on vacation here in Pa.
