How many of you look at the location listed for the awesome quilt pictures posted here? I look all the time and I'm not sure why especially since mine is "in hiding" and I do not know how to change it.

ube quilting 06-04-2011 04:07 PM

Go into my profile and edit whatever you want. I love to see where everybody is from! Good luck! :D

erstan947 06-04-2011 04:07 PM

Go to the top of this page and click on Profile. You will find a place to enter your location.:)

I'm guessing your in Minnesota ;-)

LUANNH 06-04-2011 04:28 PM

I always look to see where everyone is from.

JudyMN 06-04-2011 04:39 PM

I did try "My Profile", but can not see where to edit it and change my location. Yes, I am from Minnesota.. Sewing, yes! Computers,No. OOPs, I looked again and found it clear as sunshine. Thanks for your help.
I'm not sure why I look an extra minute at those quilts from other countries. It seems so unreal to me I can communicate with others so far away.

Conniequilts 06-04-2011 05:00 PM

I like to see where people are from. Sometimes you find someone from your area and you get together and make some wondeful friends :)

That's how I met a friend and ended up joining her Guild. We met for the Quilt Show last year where I won the Raffle Quilt!

TonnieLoree 06-04-2011 05:21 PM

I'm guessing that you are in Rosevill, MN. It looks like you have answered your own question.

frauhahn 06-04-2011 05:35 PM

I always look to see where every one is from-it is amazing-all the states and so many countries are represented here!

Ramona Byrd 06-04-2011 06:14 PM

Yes, always look to see where everyone is from.

I keep hoping to hear from someone from my home town in WV, would love to hear about this and that happening. Only one male second or third cousin writes (emails) and he doesn't seem very interested in his own or our family or history.

BETTY62 06-04-2011 09:17 PM

I look hoping to find someone located near me.

craftybear 06-04-2011 09:25 PM

Yes, I always look and see where everyone is from, I have found some members that lives close to me and we have lots of fun shopping, quilting, sewing together

Ruby the Quilter 06-04-2011 09:26 PM

Love seeing where all the quilters are-

klc 06-04-2011 09:26 PM

Me too. It's interesting to see how many quilters and sewers from so many different places.

montanajan 06-04-2011 10:26 PM

I wonder why some people put "in hiding" as their location? I would think just listing the state, city, or general location would
not get into privacy issues.

You are from Roseville, Mn. It says so!!!! Don't change it! I am from Roseville,Mn. That makes two of here! It is nice to know! (Actually, I grew up in Roseville, I now live in St. Paul! By Macalester College!!!!! I always thought Roseville was named for the flower - au contraire! It was named for a guy with the last name of Rose! Went to Lexington School, aka District 10 - They tore it down. Went to Alexander Ramsey High School. They changed the name to Roseville Area High School. Figured I better get out of there before they eliminated Roseville altogether. Keep Roseville, Mn! Edie

gypsylady5 06-05-2011 07:08 AM

I like knowing where everyone is from as well. Sometimes I see someone from my home town (Kalamazoo, MI) or Virginia or Grants Pass, OR..... It is nice to find old neighbors who like to quilt as much as I do.

I was reading this tread and checking everyone's thread until I came to yours. I am from WV and I go there several times a year to visit my sister and her family in Buckhannon and I have a grand-daughter and great grand-daughter that lives in Fairmont. The reason yours got my attention was not only because you mentioned WV but you are from Merced. My ex-daughter in law lives there with my grand-daughter. What a small world.

ShirlinAZ 06-05-2011 07:16 AM

A cousin found me on this board! We didn't even know about each other, and we still haven't met. We live about 2 1/2 hours apart! Are you reading this today, Joy?

joyce888 06-05-2011 07:31 AM

I also love seeing where everyone is from. My granddaugter loves reading the messages also and is amazed when she sees all the different places everyone is from.

OB 06-05-2011 08:56 AM

I love to see where people are from, and then I look in wikopedia to see exactly where they are and have learned a lot of interesting :) facts.

penski 06-05-2011 09:51 AM

dunster 06-05-2011 09:56 AM

Judy - that is a stunning bargello in your avatar!

newell 06-05-2011 10:22 AM

I do the same thing. I keep hoping that someone will be in my area so that we can meet and talk quilting. So far, it hasn't happened. Anyone within 20-30 miles of Portland, Or want to get together?

I'm in Albany (more than 20-30 miles), but we have had a number of get-togethers for quilt board members from Oregon and Washington. They've been held in various parts of Oregon, from Salem on north.

wildyard 06-05-2011 10:39 AM

I'm always checking for where folks are from.

Marilynsue 06-05-2011 11:05 AM

And then be sure to click on "upgrade information" down lower on the page.

Katts 14 06-05-2011 11:32 AM

That's the fun part, when I'm just sitting here talking to people all over.

teacherbailey 06-05-2011 11:33 AM

I wish that more people would change from IN HIDING to at least their state, so we can connect with each other by email. We recently did a Meet and Greet in the Atlanta area and invited everybody we saw with a reasonably close address but probably missed lots of you who have nothing listed but IN HIDING!!!!!

joyce888 06-05-2011 11:59 AM

DITTO!

I would love to get together the next time you have a get-together if I can. My work hours vary so much, I'm not always available. If I know 2-3 weeks (at least 2) ahead of time I can request the day off. Let me know and I'll see what I can do.

MommaDorian 06-05-2011 12:07 PM

I also look at locations. I would love to hook up with people from south central Iowa. I almost got to meet Rhonda, but our quilt retreat had to be canceled. It's too bad gas prices are so high, I'll bet more of us would venture out.

Mgrubbs 06-05-2011 12:35 PM

Teacherbailey,

How was the meet and greet in Atlanta area on May29? I was out of town and could not make it but have wondered how it was mgrubbs

mcar 06-05-2011 01:11 PM
