This was the first sewing machine I bought and learned to sew on. I loved it and wish I still had it.

It gives me something to meditate on.

I have never heard this one before. I really like it! Thanks for sharing!

And things form 56/58 aren't old... I'm not old!!! lol

Most of the "old" machines are real workhorses and handle heavy duty projects. Just keep smiling, you know you have a good one.

Talking about old..... Years ago ......when our son was about 11 years old, he was describing a guy he had seen. We asked him how old the guy was. His reply, "He was about your age, about MIDDLE AGE!" And the thing was, we were just 32 at the time!!! Now, I know that my son doesn't think that 32 is middle age, as he's quite a few years older than that homself.

Ha! My parents gave me a used one like that for a wedding present in 1975. You can't beat these machines.

I have to agree with this, esp. when I hear about how much people pay for maintenance on their new, computerized machines. All I do is clean out the dust and oil, and keep sewing. I have the 185J, DH has a SInger treadle, and I have a 1960's era Kenmore in a cabinet. Low maintenance, like me ;-)

LOL!!!! FYI I share 1956 and think it is a WONDERFUL vintage for people and sewing machines........
