Only got through 3 pages of many negative comments.
The lesson to be learned here is that no one's effort should be diminished by another's personal opinion. We all have our personal likes and dislikes. I DO enjoy being a member of this board and seeing what you ALL are making. I am most appreciative of the instructions and tutorials that are given here! I hope there will be no more postings to this subject that are not positive comments. |

Someone asked why we make OBW's? Well, my reason is that I do not do paper piecing, or applique or anything that is really intricate and takes a long time...I really envy those who do and drool over all those quiilts, but I will never be able to make them. The OBW has the feel of being intricate yet is so easy to do. And it is off the beaten path of traditional blocks. I do a lot of Civil War quilts that we raffle off, and the OBW's take me to a different place. Soooo.that is why I make OBW's!!! And have never met a OBW that I didn't like!!! That is my story and I am sticking to it!!! |
I agree, I think once they are all pieced together you might like it!

I personally do not even look at the blocks until I finish piecing them. I then sort them into color piles, and then begin playing on the wall. Look at some of the photos on the board. Stay with it, your blocks are beautiful so far. |
Both the finished one AND the WIP look great to me! My challenge with these quilts is - How in the heck do you quilt them OTHER than an all over meander??? I think meandering is great, however I tend to prefer actual patterns on my personal quilts....so.....I get lost for the OBW's.
