I think that sounds like a great idea. I can't wait to see the differences in all of them.

I have this fabric and both blenders to go with it but did not know what I was going to make. Will have to look into the OBW. The fabric is just so lovely.

Thank you to DonnaCollierBess who asked what a OBW is! Being new to quilting and new to the forum...these abbreviations and quilt-lingo have caused me much angst. So please, would some of you be kind enough to occasionally clue us newbies in on your abbreviations. Much, much appreciated.

This is explained twice on previous page. Someone always asks. After a while you get used to the lingo (and you can even make up some acronyms of your own if you want to drive the rest of us nuts!)

There are lists of abbreviations on the board - here is one -

Should have added - OBW = One Block Wonder

I love the fabric. This is something on my to do list. What book are you referring to? Can anyone please give me the name or ISBN number. Thanks.

Just a note... when I bought fabric going by guidelines on here, I bought 4 yds.Must say, it's according to repeats & how big of a quilt you want.I made a doz & never sewed them together.Think the fabric gave me a headache :-) from wondering what I'd do with it once done?

Here are all 3 books on Amazon. The first one shows the hollow cubes but does not have any information on how to make them. I bought the first book before the other two came out, but figured out the cubes on my own. I think that all 3 contain the basic directions for selecting fabric, cutting, and sewing the quilts, so if I were buying just one today I would probably buy the last one.

The third book is the one I just got and it does give the basics in it also. I've never made a OBW and the instructions do seem easy to follow.

Annz 01-20-2011 03:43 PM

I hope so because the fabric is beautiful.

Suziuki 01-20-2011 11:37 PM

Hi, I hope nena doesn't mind me chipping in but I know she's away from her computer for a while. A few of us here on the board have this same fabric and have started doing a group OBW with it and posting our progress here http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-92198-1.htm#2311364 nena is going to join in as soon as she can. :-D

Thanks very much for this info, after posting this response I went looking in the pictures section and saw photos of someones layout using the same fabric. I will certainly be keeping a watch on this thread. Thanks again.

You ought to be happy with the way the blocks look. It is so luscious I would have trouble cutting into it. Just love saturated color.
