Are these the same?
If not, can you explain the differences? |
|
Don't know. Will love to see the replies. They both look the same to me.

the only differences is the kaleidoscope has the 4 corner tabs

They are all variations of the same thing. Just a different number of repeats.
Kaleidoscope- a variegated changing pattern or scene. Kaleidoscope blocks can be as simple or as complex as you want. http://www.jinnybeyer.com/instructio...AD51BC064C6234 |
stack N wack you layer the fabrics= cut them mix up the pieces and sew them back together- they are not always kaleidescope style blocks- sometimes people cut rectangles- off kilter cuts- you do not have to worry about repeats & patterns so much
one block wonders and kaliedescopes are quite similar-but not necessarily the same. |
The OBW uses only the hexagons of the single fabric to form the quilt.
The kaliedescope usually has sashing between the blocks as does the stack n whack. It is my understanding that the stack n whack is only 4 pieces, the OBW is 6 pieces and the kaliedescope can be however many you want. |
I wonder te diff also...I did a S&W and it was 8 pieces...We cut the same 12 1/2 block 8 times...Cut like a pie and piled each matching piece into 8 piles...Then you used the same 8 pieces in each pile to make diff blocks
