I love math but hate ironing (and cutting, actually.) ;-p It must be the pretty fabrics and cozy end results...

Because you love art you love making quilts
|
its like with any hobby; there is a love hate relationship that goes on !LOL
|
I agree -- I hate to cut and I hate to press the seams -- but I love quilting!
|
I hate ironing too - the worse part of quilting. I have 10 tops ready to be backed. They are sitting there because I have to iron the backing and the tops!!!! My excuse the last few days is that it is too warm to iron!! (70 degrees!!).

I'm sure it is the artistic outlet that it provides that makes it worth it.

You don't "iron" - you press the blocks. BIG DIFFERENCE.
You don't "do math" - you simply figure out the size of pieces to cut from basic guidelines so you can have the perfect square. See, that was easy. |
Ok, I hate ironing clothes but I love to iron fabric! and math. . . I do everything in my power not to have to do it and I never, I repeat, NEVER do math in public!!!
I had to take an algebra class last year as part of my Gen Ed classes for my degree and I struggled, cried and pulled my hair out! But give me something quilt related, a pencil with a brand new eraser, a full tablet of paper and a calculator and I will figure it out. Priorities I guess!!!!! |
I dont like math or ironing either and when it comes to clothing repairs I take them to my quilting friend and she takes up and takes in for me I just give her one of my pathetic looks works ever time
|
sorry, but there are 140 of the big pinwheel blocks? Seems like that would be a huge quilt! pretty, but very ambitous.
but I'm not sure the why I like quilting either. Ironing and msth are not my favorites either. go figure :P |
