I had one of her skirts and just cut some scrap fabric the same size and sewed up the side seams. Then did the hem and put elastic in the top casing. No pattern needed. She loved them!

After I lost my son last year my sewing room was the only place I could go to get my myself to pray for strength, cry and even sew a little. It is still my theraphy. I am glad it helped you.

When my son died, I did exactly the same and for the same reason. My husband says that for 2 years I was lost in my sewing room, but I was actually gaining strength and fortitude from my savior and sewing was also my therapy.
