I haven't found a good one either, I just buy more.

I do have a few traditional seam rippers, but I also live dangerously and use my tiny rotary cutter to cut threads in a seam. I have to be careful, but for me it is the fastest way to rip out a seam. Guess I'm a "cutting edge" (pun intended) kind of gal! All the little threads that get left behind come up pretty easily with a tape roller.

My best one came with my sewing machine years ago - still works great - hate it when I can't find it and have to settle for my other little red one which works in a pinch but just isn't the same.

Fons and Porter with easy to handle handle for sore hands. For tough jobs I use my ole faithful from 46 years ago.

I agree with slsticher, last summer was at sister in laws who has a quilt shop. She had one of those rippers. and does it ever work. no poking holes in materials :)

I've got four I think but I've never seen them all at the same time!

Clover has come out with a sharp seam ripper that has a big fat ergonomic handle and a fabulous thumb rest. It's green and comes with a blade cover. It's really easy to use and way more comfortable that the thin little ones. I'd like to say I never have to use it....but...
