Okay...so I like purple...
 

I was at a guild workshop last weekend where there were 16 quilters who had signed up for the class. Each had such lovely fabric, for what to be a "quick way to make a Trip around the World."

As we walked around admiring progress, I always heard the same comment "Well, of course. Yours is purple." A few of the others had selected purple as one of their 6 fabrics, but I was the only one who had 5 purples.

But I really like purple! At the same time, I did admire the choices around me. Maybe next time I will branch out and try a non-purple, but I doubt it....

Do you have a color that you just HAVE to use?

Oh, here is the top. I just finished it....and I REALLY like it. Can't go wrong with purple. :)

For me it is blues, most of my quilts have blue in them somewhere, even if just the label! :)

How beautiful, I love purple too. I have it in a lot of my quilts.

I use and enjoy all colors, that being said I am really tired of using pink, purple, and lime green! I have 6 grand daughters and 2 daughters who just love these colors in quilts, cloths and even curtains. A few friends who also asked me to use these colors for them. I need a break! Am only going to make guy quilt for a while! LOL

Mine tends to be brights and jewel tones rather than a specific color....but I really do have a variety.

Mine seems to be rich reds and greens (think Holly Taylor or Kansas Troubles fabrics by Moda). Add in some gold, creams and blues and that seems to be what my quilts are when I make them for me. I CAN, if I have to, use other colors when I'm making quilts for my friends and family, lol. I'm also very fond of flannel. At least half my stash is flannel. I think I just like to pet it!

Green is for me! I have twice as much green as any other color.
I used to take a Bible study with a woman who loves purple. Every article of her clothing is purple. Her jewelry is purple. Her purses and bags are purple. Her nail polish is purple. Her car is purple. I love green, but not that much. I do love all the other colors:)

I also love purple yellow & purple are my "signature colors" (if you saw the movie
Steel Magnolias you might recognize the "signature color" reference).

However I love ALMOST any color EXCEPT brown & olive/drab green. But I DO
have (very limited amounts) of those colors in my HUGE stash, I just try to avoid
them as much as I can.

But after looking at your quilt pattern I think that might be the perfect pattern for
the red, orange, yellow & black quilt I want to make.

Mine would've been pink. Everything around here is pink and green -- usually with roses on it. Luckily my husband could care less about decore. I'm not sure he could even tell you what color the walls or drapes are.

Thanks for the compliments. What WAS new or me this time was that I could almost picture what this would look like before I made it. This is new for me. Maybe I am finally getting the "design board" in my head to function!

Dina, I am there with you. Love purple and have so many shades. Your quilt is beautiful. Is the boarder white or very light lilac?

Mine are dark rich jewel tones, burgandy, royal blue,emerald green and black, etc. about 5 or 6 of these. Some or all of these will be in my quilts and usually not any pale colors.

It's white. Turns out really light lilac is too hard to find....but I tried!

Purple is such a pretty color! In fact it is my favorite color as well. I love your chose of color and think you quilt is beautiful!!!! In most of my quilts for myself I have put in some purple. I consider it my signature color in my quilts. Keep enjoying doing purple quilts. I enjoy seeing quilts made with purple fabric.

that is BEAUTIFUL! I did not used to like purple very much, but now I find I am leaning more and more toward it... perhaps I need to join the "Red Hat Society."

Purple is my favorite color.
I love, love, love, love, love this quilt. Excellent color choices. I like the gradiating color. I think (not speaking from my bias) it was an awesome choice to use 5 shades of 1 color.
I want to make one now! lol :)

I love them all, from the dusky thimbleberries and Kansas Troubles, to the Jewel Tones and Pastels, oh and don't forget the brights!

I do love purple...and add it to all my colors lol...
