Went to a large fabric store yesterday with my cousin and had to go to the attached sewing center for bobbins. While there, I drooled over the Pfaff Expressions machines as usual. Then I noticed the 2.0 was on sale and was about $1100. On payments I could do that, just barely. The sales gal came over and we tried it, I loved it and then she said she had a returned 3.0 for sale for cheaper! A sewer bought it, used it a few times and decided she really wanted the 4.0! So she traded it in that morning!

I got it for $1000 with all warranties, lessons and etc. as if brand new! Plus she'd bought a single-hole plate and other accessories which she will thrown in for me!

Its on layaway and I've already paid $50! So in a year it may be home! Anyone need their car washed? need their garden weeded, dog walked....?

Congratulations on your great find. It is always nice to be in the right place at the right time. Hope you get it home soon, at least you have something to look forward to.

kristen0112 07-27-2010 08:44 PM

Since you were so lucky you should have bought a lottery ticket just in case :-)

akrogirl 07-27-2010 09:11 PM

Lucky you :-) Does the dealer offer gift cards? If so, you could always drop a few, not so subtle, hints to friends and family who aren't sure what to get you for your birthday etc. Anything to speed up the process ;-)

trif 07-27-2010 09:24 PM

How exciting! I hope you get to bring it home before a year, the waiting would drive me crazy. Have fun planning your projects

HIP HIP HOORAH

Merrilin 07-28-2010 12:56 PM

Yes you did. And talk about lucky. I had this lady stop by last week wanting to know if I could use some batting. Well, of course I said yes. She said her mother had died 3 months ago and she didn't know what to do with this big roll of batting. And she only want $10. or $15.00 for it. I said I would take it ,thinking that it was a small roll that was left over. In the mean time she goes home to get it. When she comes back it is a full roll of batting. It has been opened on the one end and sat on grass. So I need to clean that off. Any way it is 108x30 yrds. All for $15.00. Thats all I paid her for it. Now to quilt, quilt, quilt.....

Nope, windows windows, as in sliding door, kitchen window, etc. Seriously, though, you ARE just up the road -- I'm just off Exit 7 (I think -- 99th St., anyway. I think Salmon Creek is Exit 9.) Maybe we can visit when I get back from Lake Chelan. Are you doing the Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt? At which big fabric store did you get your big bargain?
