Thanks, and I did exactly that...which is what I usually do...it just takes a bit of time, and I have seen others do one color...thought maybe about trying something new, but tried black on one, and just decided to stick with matching...lol...I love hearing all the ideas from everyone, tho....future ideas for me!!!

Cut it any whichway, and it will be cute.

Looks like a quilt I made for my grandson.

It sure does! I have had some on here ask about the pattern...I told them about fatcatpatterns.com, from Sindy Rodenmayer, and that I googled color book pages for the others....I almost went with using some applique blocks, and alternating with the blue fabric with all the cars, trucks....love yours!!!

Good luck with your sashing and please post your finished quilt....

Thanks, some of the blocks are from fatcatpatterns.com, from Sindy Rodenmayer, others I googled free color book pages, and adapted to fabrics...

Lastly....
A big huge thank you to you all!!! I am using thread colors that match, tried black, and I just am not creative enough to get that to work, looked good on the blocks with not many parts, but for others with more smaller pieces, it just didn't look right...for the sashing, it will be the plaid, or solid black with white or yellow stitched lines to mimic a road, thanks to ya'll for that clever idea! There are so many wonderful creative people here!!! Love this board! Will post pics when I get it done...

I think you should get a solid blue - Kona or something - so the sashing just frames the blocks, not competes with them. They are ADORABLE!

Bright varigated thread or invisible. Like the plaid on the bias for sashing.
Adorable blocks

The plaid.

The first choice that came to mind was the plaid. So plaid it is.

Plaid....doesn't make your eyes wandering around at the whole focus point of it. Those other fabrics are cute but the plaid lays it to rest.
